He's mine, and I'm his.  Our love is all--consuming, powerful, imperfect, and real...

In the international bestseller REAL, the unstoppable bad boy of the Underground fighting circuit finally met his match.  Hired to keep him in prime condition, Brooke Dumas unleashed a primal desire in Remington"Riptide" Tate as vital as the air he breathes...and now he can't live without her.

Brooke never imagined she would end up with the man who is every woman's dream, but not all dreams end happily ever after, and just when they need each other the most, she is torn away from his side.  Now with distance and darkness between them, the only thing left is to fight for the love of the man she calls MINE.

MY REVIEW...

Mine was a great book.  I enjoyed it and it was great to get more of Remy since one book was never going to be enough.  I love Katy Evan's work!  She's an amazing author and I can't wait for Remy to be released.  Mine is the sequel to REAL and I was expecting to be blown away.  This is a great book, don't get me wrong.  I don't know if the wait is what did it or if I just loved REAL  so much that is was hard for me to love this book more.  There wasn't really a huge turning point and very little drama involved.  It was basically a continuation of the first book.  This isn't a bad thing since I needed more Remy.  It's fast paced, entertaining and filled with an extremely hot Remy.  I loved Brooke in the first book.  She got on my nerves a bit in this one.  Other than those small things the book was great.

Things I loved...

  1. All things REMY!
  2. The way Brooke handled his illness
  3. His possessiveness
  4. The ending!!!
If you loved Remy then read this.  I recommend it if you love fighters the way I do!  I give it 4 Stars because like I said, it didn't blow me away but it was still pretty awesome!

BOOK REVIEW...

MINE picks up 2 months after REAL.  Remy has been training for the new season and Brooke has joined him on his tour.  Things have been going great between them and they are completely in love and happy.

Things take a turn after his first fight when she finds out about the women he slept with while they were apart.  We know a bit about how he handled her leaving him.  We know that he went black and stayed there for awhile.  He couldn't handle waking up in the hospital to a letter saying goodbye instead of her when she was all he wanted.  Pete brought him the women because this is the way they have always handled things.  She can't handle the truth at all.  She's angry and jealous even though she really doesn't have a right to be.  The end up arguing and she goes downstairs at the hotel to stay in a different room.  Remy being Remy isn't gonna allow that to happen so he just goes after her and carries her back to their room.

Things still aren't any better between them the next morning.  She can't stop crying, she won't eat and won't let him anywhere near her.  He has a fight that night and he's goes to extremes to get her attention.  He lets the guy pound on him so that she'll have to touch him to doctor his wounds.  They smooth things out between them and things go back to normal.

Scorpion is still in the picture.  They guy is bound and determined to set Remy off using any means he can...including Brooke.  She receives a gift from Remy (or so the carrier said) and when she opens it, it's full of scorpions.  She's stung multiple times.  They aren't poisonous but she's in an incredible amount of pain.  Remy goes after scorpion and they end up having to sedate him because it sets him off.

She's been getting sick for weeks.  Thinking it's the bites from the scorpions she doesn't think much of it until some brings it to her attention that maybe she's pregnant.  They take a test and she is.  They are both happy and excited.  Things are looking good until she begins bleeding at his fight.  He rushes her to the ER and she's in the early stages of miscarriage.  They are both devastated.  Her only option is to go home.  The doctors tell him she can't travel and has to be on total bed rest until she passes her first trimester.  She doesn't want to go home but it's the only option so he flies her home.  They are apart for weeks.  He's fighting and she's laid up in a bed with nothing to do but think.

She has to tell her parents about the baby on her own.  They didn't even know she was with someone.  They don't like Remy because of the picture her sister has painted of him.  This was crazy to me seeing as how Remy had given everything important to him up for Brooke because she needed her sister to be saved from Scorpion.  Between this and the stress of being on bed rest she's starts going a little crazy...seeing things in his phone calls that aren't there.  He's coming to Seattle in a week for his fight.  His plan is to go to the fight and then spend a few days with her.  She wants to come and he won't let her.  She gets it in her head its because of women.  It actually has everything to do with keeping her and the baby safe.  He's been faithful and he misses her like crazy.

She and her insane best friend come up with a plan to go to the fight anyway.  They both dress up like old grannies and go.  He's fighting when when her friend yells and he turns to smile at them.  He sort of does a double take, narrows his eyes and really looks at them.  It doesn't take long and he's got them figured out.  After the fight he goes over to them and scoops her up and takes her to his hotel.

They spend a few days locked in the hotel room and then find out that her sister has gotten involved with Scorpion again.  He tries to call off the rest of the season since he can't take her with him.  He's not to keen on leaving her alone unprotected while he's gone.  She tells him he's not gonna do it because this time she chooses him and his dreams.  Before he leaves again, he meets her parents and has their promise of protection and approval once they tell them the truth about her sister.

18 days later she meets him at the airport when she's clear to travel again and they go back on tour together.  Things are going great.  They are both excited about being parents.  He's winning his fights and his eyes are staying blue.

Then his parents show up.  They never fail in turning him black and when they do it this time they do a phenomenal job of it.  He's not crazy out of hand black, he's deep deep depression black.    It doesn't matter what they do, they can't bring him out of it.  After over a week of this, he calls everyone in and has them schedule a procedure for him.  She against this...it's electroshock therapy.  We see how bad he really was when she left him.  He had several of these procedures in the month they were apart.  It was the only thing that brought him out of it.  They were scared he was going to kill himself.  He'd begin to come out of it and try to go after her and they'd have to sedate him again.  We also find out that he never slept with those women.  He can't remember that period of time and he has no idea if he did or not.  Pete tells her the truth and why.  He does it without realizing that Remy can hear him when he tells her.  He doesn't overact or anything which is what I really expected him to do.

His championship fight against Scorpion comes.  He's been black so long but when he looks at her from the ring she realizes his eyes are blue again.  It's a submission fight and he has to win.  Her sister went back to Scorpion because he has a sex tape of them.  He has to win to get the tape back.

She goes into labor during the fight but doesn't say anything.  This is bad since she's only 7 months pregnant.  After he wins the fight he look at her and realizes something is wrong.  He picks her up and carries her to the car.  While going through the crowd she notices that fans are throwing white roses at them and a song he was supposed to play for her when he won is asking her to marry him.  He ends up just asking her in the car on the way to the hospital and she says yes.

She has the baby later that night.  He's small but in good health.  They name him Racer (hate that name btw) and he ends up spending 4 weeks in the hospital.  Once he's discharged they take him home to Seattle.  They get married a few days later.

I loved the ending!  Read this book!  You won't regret it!
